Our resident photographer, Sarah Tamar, went off the grid this past weekend and lived to tell about it. Here’s her story:
When the big white van pulled up in front of my spot in Brooklyn and six of us piled into the back for the three hour ride to the Muddy River Jam Festival (http://www.muddyriverjam.com/) this past weekend in Woodstown, New Jersey, I knew it was going to be one of those perfectly wild summertime city escape stories you talk about for years to come.
Not disappointed, the festival consisted of everything from amazing music (The

Squam Lake, New Hampshire
While most people were in the Hamptons or down the shore this weekend I took things a step further and went to New Hampshire. Sometimes its good to just go off the grid for a while. Also, in moments of blog silence I recommend you follow me on Twitter to make sure I am still alive. I was up every morning and out of the house at 7:30 (earlier than I get up for work!) to go fishing and in bed by midnight. We ate homemade, handpicked, fresh everything.
There is…

SUMMER IS OFFICIALLY HERE.
It’s not summer until the Pool Parties are here (Thanks Schumer.) I’ve been sitting on this for over a month and today Jelly NYC gave the go-ahead to reveal their famous Pool Party line up. Check that shit out!
Things will be a little different this year – as the stage will now be located closer to Kent Ave facing the water. The once abandoned building located on the East River State Park lot, will be home to a new restaurant this fall – but will be home to Allsaints…

A letter from Justin Carter, Eamon Harkin & Doug Singer:
When BKLYN Yard suddenly announced that it was closing its doors, we tried our best to save our home on the canal for the 2010 season. In the end, even though our liquor permitting process was near completion and all the other necessary logistics were sorted, we were prevented from continuing to operate in the space, and we’ve been made powerless in our attempts to stay there.
The owner of the property, the local police precinct, and the community have worked with us over the past couple weeks to keep…
