VIDEO // PS22 Warms up for the Acadamy Awards with MGMT KIDS
This has nothing to do with nightlife, or even New York City, but it’s just so cute I had to share. I am not going to lie… I am borderline obsessed with these kids. If you haven’t seen them – the 5th-grade choir from Graniteville, Staten Island’s PS22 – I highly recommend checking out their YouTube Page. The PS22 Chorus, lead my music teacher “Mr. B” Gregg Breinberg, covers songs by the likes of Passion Pit, Eminem, Lady Gaga, and even the Freelance Whales; racking up over 27 million video views. In December, Anne Hathaway showed up (how effing cute are those kids) at their winter concert to invite them to perform February 27 at the Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. Now, with less than a month to go, the heat is on as these 60+ kids are set to perform for a TV audience of millions. What Mr. B has done for these kids is nothing short of amazing – a true inspiration.
