Flea Market Mania

July 9, 2009 @ 3:33 pm

If your bored this weekend – which you should never because you live in NYC – hit up one of the flea markets going down every weekend. There is a bunch, but the Brooklyn Flea and Artists and Fleas are my favorite.

My best find so far was some dresses from Hairy Mary - a LES vintage boutique who sells their stuff at a discount in the spirit of fleas! The BK Flea also has a killer food selection – pretty yummy.

The Brooklyn Flea:

Brooklyn Flea takes place every weekend in two locations:
Every Saturday in Fort Greene (10am-5pm), and every Sunday under the Brooklyn Bridge on the waterfront in DUMBO (11am-6pm).
Vintage Furniture and Clothes, Architectural Salvage, Antiques, Music, Art, Crafts, and Food

Artists and Fleas, McCarren Park, and N6th between Bedford and Berry.
Artists & Fleas creates weekly markets where emerging artists, designers, vintage collectors, and handmade crafters can set up shop and come in direct contact with the consumer public. Current markets include the Indoor Artists & Designer Market, the Vintage Market, and the Market in McCarren.

Williamsburg Flea Market: Wythe Ave (between s 2nd and s 3rd)
Every Sunday, 10am to 6pm.
An eclectic array of vendors will showcase artwork, antiques, new and vintage home furnishings, clothing and accessories, food, crafts and more. The marketplace is situated in a unique space which features a vintage farm tractor, bocce, music and lounge area. The perfect way to spend a summer Sunday.

Annex Antique Fair & Flea Market, 6th Avenue from 24th to 27th St, (212) 243-5343

The Garage, 112 West 25th Street, btw. 6th and 7th Ave, (212) 647-0707
Saturday and Sunday, 7am-5pm
Indoor antiques market

SOHO Antiques Fair, Grand Street and Broadway, (212) 682-2000
Saturday and Sunday, 9am-5pm
Antiques and crafts, leather jackets and lots of random stuff.

PS 321, Seventh Avenue btw. 1st and 2nd St. Brooklyn
Saturday and Sunday, 9am-5pm
Furniture, clothing, misc stuff

Greenflea, Columbus Ave. btw. 76th & 77th Streets
Sunday, 10am-6pm
A huge market with indoor and outdoor vendors selling wonderful imports and handmade crafts as well as antiques and books. It’s called “greenflea” because there are farmers selling fresh produce as well as flea market vendors.

Noho Market, Broadway and West 4th St.
Open seven days a week.
This market next to Tower Records has lots of clothing and jewelry, along with tapes, sunglasses, bongs, etc.

Happy Shopping!

    Interesting!

A diary or a personal journal is your most intimate confidante. You can confidently share your secrets with it knowing that your personal diary will not talk to someone. So you should be very careful about your personal dairy. Leather is one of the most versatile materials that finds application in many areas. I would suggest to maintain a leather dairy instead of any normal dairy.
