I Went: Off the Grid and Back

July 8, 2010 @ 1:01 am

Squam Lake, New Hampshire

While most people were in the Hamptons or down the shore this weekend I took things a step further and went to New Hampshire.   Sometimes its good to just go off the grid for a while.  Also, in moments of blog silence I recommend you follow me on Twitter to make sure I am still alive. I was up every morning and out of the house at 7:30 (earlier than I get up for work!) to go fishing and in bed by midnight.  We ate homemade, handpicked, fresh everything.

There is something really invigorating about catching your own dinner.  You might think its gross – or cool like me- but it really puts things in perspective being able to “hunt and gather” and not rely on others to survive – even if its just for one day.

For you rustic fishermen and women out there- check out the Brooklyn Urban Anglers Association and get yourself a lobstah roll.
